Aaron Slutkin
Aaron returns to Gilman after attending Duke University where he earned honors distinction in the bachelor of arts program. His majors were in history and political science, and he minored in Russian language and culture. During his junior year, he studied abroad at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, and then spent the spring semester in Iowa as communications director for Admiral Mike Franker’s Senate campaign, which he unfortunately lost. This past year he worked for Hudson Institute Political Studies, the program where he was a fellow last summer, as a teaching assistant.

Devina Bhalla
Devina Bhalla grew up in New England, going to high school at Suffield Academy in Suffield, Connecticut. At Suffield, she wrote for and served as a head editor for Suffield’s newspaper, The Bell. She then attended Tufts University, where she wrote for The Tufts Daily and was an editor for the Arts section. While in college, Bhalla also wrote for the Worcester Business Journal, first as a summer intern and then as a freelance writer. After graduating with a BA in English and Sociology from Tufts, Bhalla moved to Baltimore to be a Penn Fellow at Gilman. She is in her second year of the fellowship, teaching upper school English and working towards an M.S Ed. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Matt Zealand
Matt Zealand attended Allegany High School in Cumberland, Maryland, where he was a three-sport athlete and an editor of the school newspaper, the Alcohi Mirror. Following a brief stint as a sports writer for the Cumberland Times-News, he earned a BA in Spanish Literature and Psychology at Towson University while also writing for the Towson Towerlight. Zealand spent four years living and working in Spain, where he was a contributor to the English-language magazine In Madrid. Zealand earned his MA in Spanish Linguistics at the University of California, Davis and headed up the Modern Languages Department at the Drew School in San Francisco before making his way to Gilman in 2015 alongside his wife, Ana, and son, David.

Lauren Rauseo
Lauren Rauseo joined Gilman's Marketing & Communications Department as Communications Manager in 2021. She is also the owner of and designer at LBK Designs and supported Gilman in this capacity as a freelance contractor for four years before joining the team full-time. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in mass communication with a business/marketing certificate from Towson University and a Master of Arts in publication design from the University of Baltimore. Rauseo knew she wanted to work in design and communications beginning when she served as the editor-in-chief of her high school yearbook.
